I recently had the pleasure of staying at a delightful cottage in a charming Yorkshire village. The cottage itself was a dream, fulfilling all my Dales fantasy with its warm and cosy atmosphere. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, and to top it all off, the hosts even left a lovely cake for our arrival. The location was perfect, allowing for lovely rambles through the nearby Hackfell Woods and providing a true taste of the quintessential Dales town. While there were no stores in town, it was easy enough to stock up on supplies at Sainsbury’s in Ripon or the Coop in Masham. The only minor issue we had was with the hot water downstairs, but we managed just fine using a kettle to wash up. I highly recommend this cottage for a truly wonderful getaway experience.

I always return to this cozy cottage. The staff kindly returned my forgotten things once. Having free Wi-Fi, parking, an electric kettle, kitchen utensils, a TV, and allowing pets. 40 words.

The room at Lavender Cottage was absolutely cozy and comfortable. It had everything I needed for a perfect stay - a washing machine for my laundry, a flat-screen TV for entertainment, a sofa to relax on, and a wardrobe to keep my belongings organized. The highlight was definitely the fireplace, which added a warm and inviting atmosphere to the room. As a backpacker, I couldn't have asked for more!
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the shower in the bathroom. But that's just my preference, others might still find it enjoyable.

My stay at Lavender Cottage was absolutely delightful. The location was perfect, allowing me to experience the charm of a typical Yorkshire village while still being within reach of attractions like Fountains Abbey. The hosts were amazing, providing me with plenty of information and ensuring the cottage had all the necessary amenities, including a well-equipped kitchen. The small property itself was cozy and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding town of Grewelthorpe was like a scene from a Dales fantasy, with its narrow lanes, stone houses, and beautiful walks through Hackfell Woods. The peace and tranquility of the cottage made for a truly relaxing stay. Although there were a few minor inconveniences like not being able to heat the hot water downstairs and the nearby noise from the road and farm track, they didn't detract from the overall positive experience. I highly recommend Lavender Cottage for a delightful getaway in the Yorkshire Dales.
